Jarvie The Athlete

Jarvis insisted on wearing his Western Suburbs Little Athletics Centre cap to school today, so that he could show his class mates that he's now and athlete. He also asked me to draw a wee picture of him and Felix on the back of his hand, having a running race. I've no idea where he got that idea from, but I went with it.

You may notice in the first picture that Jarvis is not smiling. The reason for this, is that when Jarvis is in athlete mode, he refuses to smile, as he reckons athletes NEVER smile. He must have watched some races with me and seen them focused and in the zone before a race. So yeah, he won't smile when being an athlete, that is unless we coax a smile out of him, as we had to do in the final pictures.

While Jarvis was at school his Nanny Ronnie went with me to buy him a wee track suit and running shoes. Unbeknown to us, Rebel Sports had a sale on, so we scored 25% off everything.

After school Jarvis changed into his athletes gear and gave us a demonstration of how he looks in his new threads. He looked so cool and I was really touched to see my little man looking so grown up. I'm sure I'll be the same way in years to come when he's on the winners podium collecting his gold medal for representing New Zealand.
