It was a bit chilly waiting outside, as we had arrived about 20-minutes early, but things warmed up quickly as the boys ran from tactile exhibit to tactile exhibit. The place was so hands on, it was unbelievable. We spent about an hour playing downstairs before realising that there was another whole floor above dedicated to little people from 3 to 8. So off we went.
It was great to see that the little peoples area had child proof gates at either end, because as parents, those sort of things make such a difference. So yeah, we parked up the stroller and spent about 60-minutes playing, making new friends and learning about various things, such as recycling and how the read the weather, it was wonderful.
After a quick lunch we headed down to the pump house and saw a great exhibit on how Melbourne's waste was treated way back in time. We also had the bonus of walking into the pump room just as they fired up the ginormous pumps. Jarvis was so impressed, but looked shocked when I told him that it was designed to pump poo!
Three-hours after entering the building, I bundled two very tired boys into the car for the 35-minute ride back to the castle. A very, very successful and happy day for the boys :o)
